In the French city of Le Mans, in 1933, the Papin sisters were
convicted of a murder so significant that it would shake the
bedrock of French society and influence French intellectuals such
as- Jean Genet, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Jacques Lacan.
These leading intellectuals, and others, sought to analyze the
events that took place surrounding the sisters and draw connections
between them and that of a deep seeded class struggle taking place
between different aspects of French society at the time.
This is the gruesome story of Christine and Lea Papin.
